Mikko Hilden has worked as a guitarist in Stockholm, Sweden for more than 10 years.
Mikko has recorded and toured with many Swedish artists. Hildén has also done studio work in Paris and London with producer Wayne Beckford.
In 2006 Hildén decided to go back to school and attend Humber College in Toronto, Canada and studied with world-renowned teachers such as Pat Labarbera and Ravi Naimpally.
While attending Humber Hildén won four different awards including the Gordon and Anne Wragg $6000 music scholarship award.
In 2010 Hildén recorded the album Nova Scotia (Addo records) with some of Canadas finest musicians. The writing on this album is inspired through a combination of influences rooted in Jazz, specifically the ECM style, and also world music.
In Canada Hildén also performed regularly with the Gypsy Jazz group “Les Petits Nouveaux” that has
released two albums and has performed at the Stockholm Jazz Festival.
Since moving back to Sweden, Hildén has continued to play with different Gypsy Jazz
Groups and is currently teaching at Helsjön Folkhögskola.
Hildén is also runs a YouTube channel dedicated to Jazz guitar and has covered a lot of Mick Goodrick material.
